Founded in April of 2024 by Jake Waxman, Local Protégé has quickly emerged as a game-changer in the world of athletic training. But our journey began long before our official inception. It all started the year prior when we set out as a baseball training company, dedicated to helping young athletes hone their skills on the diamond.
However, it didn't take long for us to realize that parents and players alike were craving something more – a training experience led by someone young, relatable, and still deeply immersed in the sport. That's when the lightbulb moment struck, and LocalProtégé underwent a transformational pivot.
We shifted our focus to providing a platform for college students and athletes aged 17 to 25 to connect with young athletes in their communities. This pivot opened doors for aspiring coaches to share their expertise, earn a meaningful income, and make a lasting impact on the next generation of athletes.
